A boy and his chicken! ❤️ Delta is doing great, along with all the other chicks, but she does have a few extra struggles doing normal chicken things. Her feet just aren’t as strong as the other chicks. She doesn’t let it get her down though, and is the friendliest little hen we’ve ever had! #aboyandhischicken #tinystumpffarms #wonderfullymade #takecareofeachother
5 Ways to Make School Days More Fun #ontheblogtoday #homeschoollife #homeschoolmom #theworldisourclassroom
We got caught up on a few farm chores over the weekend. Bryan planted all the field corn so our house can be toasty next winter. We built a little chicken pen around the chicken house and the kids have been helping me round up the little chicks to put them up at night, but finally they are starting to go in on their own. Chicks without a mama hen are so much more work! I filled the nesting boxes with cedar shavings as a natural way to keep bugs off my hens. And the lavender is growing great and is staying inside for now, strength training with a fan, because I’m too scared to lose anymore to windy weather. 🌱 #tinystumpffarms
We’ve got a little bit of news! Baby #5 should be here around December 23 (my mom’s birthday!) It’s still early to share our news, but no matter what happens, we’re thankful for this baby. AND the kids are already excitedly telling everyone we meet!! ❤️ #family #growingourfamily #pregnancyannouncement #familyofsix
My seed trays are living on the kitchen counter for now while this windy weather passes through. I lost two entire trays a few days ago when the winds ripped the cover completely off my tiny greenhouse. I was feeling pretty down about myself and my lack of hobbies that are actually fruitful and finally caught a glimpse of some baby lavender peeking out above the soil yesterday!! 🌱#seedlings #growinglavender #gardening #gardenmom
The bees are out today and they are looking for water. We usually set out a shallow tray of water with pebbles in it so they can drink safely, but I’m not sure how to keep them out of the greenhouse! 🐝 #gardening #bees #beesinthegreenhouse #tinygreenhouse #greenhouselife #signsofspring
Voluntarily doing schoolwork on the weekend 😍 That’s how amazing these dyslexia games books have been for our family and my children’s love of learning! #homeeducation #funschooling #interestledlearning
Today I had kiddos needing extra snuggles and time with me on the couch, which is really hard for me because I like to be moving and getting things done in the morning.
The downtime did give me a chance to watch the kids play their video games. They're always asking me to watch them play, so it was a nice chance to get to do so.
They were playing a game they recently talked me into because it has a lot of dialogue in captions and they could practice their reading skills. They know how to get me!
I started watching them play Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, and oh my goodness. Nothing like the Zelda games we grew up playing on Game Boy, right? Ha!
So now I have my own Zelda game going on my WiiU profile and it is just as much fun as exploring in the old flat-lay, black and green lcd screen of the old Game Boys, maybe more!
Of course I showed the kids a picture of a Game Boy and had them watch a YouTube video of the Zelda I knew and loved. I love how we can revisit some of our own fun from childhood!
Have a great weekend and play some games with your kids! 🕹❤️🎮 #ourday #ontheblogtoday #gameschooling #homeschoolmom #timewithmykids #loveourlife
We’ve been loving these Dyslexia Games books in our homeschool! I wrote a little blog post about when your kids need help with reading. If you’ve notice that your child may be needing accommodations for reading, I hope some of these ideas can help! #learning #learningtoread #homeschool #homeducation #learningtogether #dyslexia #funschool
